Virginia

We are having lots of fun on our vacation. Still getting very little sleep, but I guess that is to be expected when traveling with little ones. As I type this, it is 9:30 here. The baby is back in bed for the second time (we'll see if it lasts) and the older kids are still squirming in their bed, kicking each other, giggling, doing everything BUT sleeping. what fun.

Today we explored Shenandoah National Park. It is really beautiful! There are SO many trees and plants and animals. We took the "Skyline Drive" through about a third of the park. They had a really neat visitor center that talked about the history of the park. I didn't know that the federal government took people's property from them so that they could build it. We had a picnic and went on a little nature hike. We had a great time!

Fog on the mountain -
this is what we saw for about the first hour of our drive. Pretty scary!

Climbing the tree - what fun!

The hikers

View from the top - pretty spectacular!

There were lots of pretty flowers to see!

If anyone ever gets the chance to visit out here, I would highly recommend it. I think it would be fun to spend a lot more time here!

Tomorrow we are going to Washington, DC! That was the whole purpose for this trip and we are really looking forward to it!
