Love Hurts!

I had the first experience with witnessing my son's heart breaking today.
His "girlfriend" (see the picture of her at the zoo) just turned 4 last week. She had decided to have an all girl birthday party, and they painted their nails and brushed each others hair and played dress up. No BOYS allowed.
Her mom told me about it a couple of weeks ago, and I of course chose not to mention it to my son.

Well, today, she came up to him at church and told him how great her party was and how fun it was to have "just girls". He was SO sad! He cried for a long time because she didn't invite him to her birthday party. He just couldn't understand WHY!

So, now he has decided that he is going to have a BOY party for his birthday. It's coming up in about 6 weeks. And he is NOT going to invite HER!
HA - young love!!

A Trip to the ZOO

Today was a fun day! A good friend of mine has a membership to the Phoenix Zoo and she invited me to come! We had a really fun time, and the kids had a blast!
I put my kids in their Zadyball t-shirts, hoping to get a little exposure. I'm not sure it did anything for me, but I thought it was fun anyway.

What my kids got in their Easter baskets

I LOVE shopping on Etsy. My husband thinks that I'm a little obsessed with it, and I suppose that I am. But, I got some fabulous gifts for my kiddos!
I chose to feed their obsessions. Currently, Z is all about pirates and A is in love with DUCKS.
So, I got them each a pair of lounge pants from Ivy&Mae (aka mamaziel) . They love them SO much and want to wear them all the time.

Check out Ivy&Mae for more GREAT children's items!

I also got Z some socks to help him learn his left from his right. These came from girliemomma, and are non-slip, so he can run around on the tile with out sliding into the walls (which has happened more than once!)

Here's more great stuff from girliemomma:

Life Today

I need to work on setting realistic expectations for myself. The craft fair was not all that I'd hoped it would be. I sold 11 mini Zadyballs, so it was nowhere near what I had hoped for. But, I more than doubled my entry fee. *shrug* I think what I really need to do is find shows with just the "right" people. I need people that are looking for baby stuff. Where do I find those people??

I did get to meet StaceyRebecca. That was awesome! It was like meeting a celebrity. Right up until her son almost choked on one of my candies.

**While candies may be a good idea to get people to come and talk to you at a craft fair, when selling children's items, they need to be child safe.

Maybe next time I won't do hard candy. I'll do suckers or something instead. Or skip the candy all together as it seemed to bring in the wrong people...

In other news, yesterday I made this onesie for my daughter to wear. Is it "right" of me to turn her into a walking billboard?

Come and see me!

I will be at a craft fair tomorrow - Saturday, March 15th!
It is the 7th Avenue Street Fair in Phoenix. If you are in the area, come by and see me!

This is only my second Craft Fair, the first one that I've had to pay to be involved in. I really don't know what to expect! They told me that they expect 10,000 people to come. I hope that means LOTS of sales for me! :)
I'm just hoping that I sell enough to at least break even. It would be nice to clear out some of my inventory. I did a count tonight - I currently have in stock 70 ZadyMinis and 60 Full-Size Zadyballs. I hope to sell at least half!

Zadyball Cake?

I spent the weekend with my in-laws. (It's not as bad as it sounds!)
It was my Father-in-law's birthday, and we had a party for him. And, even though my birthday was actually about 3 weeks ago, they decided that I needed a cake too, since I didn't get to celebrate with them.

This is the cake that my sister-in-law made - a Zadyball cake!

Featured Seller - jkalea

I'd like to tell you about one of my good Etsy friends - Jen from jkalea
Jen is such a talented artist! She specializes in making diaper cakes - and lots more - out of high quality baby items.
From her profile:
"I create each and every baby cake with only the best ingredients: beautiful ribbons, Pampers Swaddlers diapers, lush handmade blankets from LuLusWoobies, and sweet stuffed toys appropriate for all ages. I hand-stitch the ribbons to create a streamlined look on the front and back of the cake – no glue! I put a lot of thought, ♥love♥ and dedication into each creation."

For one of her fabulous diaper cakes, she invited me, and OliverLane to partcipate in a collaboration. The "Picnic in the Park" cake would make such a great centerpiece at a spring time baby shower.

I also love her non-cake creations. Such as the "sushi" made from washcloths and stuffed toys.

If you are looking for a show-stopping baby shower gift, be sure to visit jkalea!

The writing is on the wall

SO, I guess that it is time to cut out nap time for my three-year old son. He's been fighting it for a while, but I've pushed it because it's about the only time that I can get some work done.
But, this is what happens when a three-year-old is left alone too long with a Sharpie. (Ask my husband why there was a Sharpie in his room....)
These pictures were taken after my first attempt at cleaning up the mess.
